Jim Boitnott received his degree in Music Performance from Elon University
and went on to do his Graduate Degree work at Radford University. Soon
after, he became an instructor at both universities teaching guitar and film
scoring. He has also taught at Guilford College and The Greensboro
Cultural Center where he also directs the annual Guitar Summer Workshop
for guitarists in Greensboro and surrounding areas. He is currently the VP
of Business Development for the award-winning music software company
NOTION music, Inc.

As a composer Jim Boitnott has published numerous works and many of
these have been performed throughout the U.S. and Europe. Composing in
a variety of styles he has worked with orchestras, electronic ensembles,
string quartets, solo instrumentalists, with styles ranging from classical to
rock and jazz. But composing for film is his great passion. He has composed
music for several films including Twizted Dayz, Soliloquy, Infamy, The
Phone Call, Dawn of the Redneck Samurai, The Last Shift, Butterflies, and
he is currently working on several films that will soon be announced.

As a performer Jim Boitnott has worked and performed with Grammy Award
winning musicians and composers. He has performed throughout the U.S.
as a solo performer and with other musicians. His versatility has given him
much acclaim, allowing him to work on many projects as a studio musician
and composer/arranger.

As a producer Jim Boitnott has produced songs for rock, electronic, r&b,
rap, jazz, and classical music acts, his own film scores, and film scores for
other composers.
